Career on the bigger stage

The signature win of Oliveira's career came in June 2019 at Titan FC 55, where he stopped highly regarded prospect Jared Gooden with strikes against the cage in the first round – a result made all the more notable by Gooden's polished 14-3 record at the time. That win raised Oliveira's profile and earned him a coveted spot on Dana White's Contender Series in November 2020. There he ran into rising New Zealander Carlos Ulberg, who caught him with a clean left hook for a first-round knockout. Oliveira returned in January 2021 at LFA 98 in a main-event bout against Josh Fremd, but again came up short, stopped by a punch in the opening round. He answered with a return to the win column in July 2022, knocking out Gabriel Mota in the second round at Global Legion FC 21 to remind everyone of the power that has always been his calling card.

Fighting style

Oliveira is a finisher first and foremost. Seven of his nine wins have come by knockout, giving him a finish rate near 90 percent and making him a constant threat to end the night with a single exchange. His length and reach let him attack from range, and he is comfortable hunting the finish against the fence. The flip side is a thinner margin for error: each of his three professional losses came inside the distance, twice by knockout and once by submission, underscoring that a fighter who lives by the finish can also fall by it. When he lands clean, however, few middleweights have shown they can absorb it.
