Rising through OKTAGON and Ares FC

Klinkhammer stepped up in competition as he moved onto bigger European platforms. In 2021 he earned a decision over the seasoned Anatoly Tarasenko at OKTAGON 26, his lone bout to reach the scorecards, before returning to his finishing ways with a first-round kneebar of Karim Rabei at Ares FC 2. He carried that momentum into 2022, submitting the previously unbeaten Wissame Akhmouch by rear-naked choke in the first round at Ares FC 5. A planned bout with Combat Edge-listed prospect Gabriel Bonfim in September 2022 was scrapped before it could happen, but Klinkhammer stayed on track in 2023 with a first-round arm-triangle finish of Christopher Jacquelin at Ares FC 15.

Fighting style

Klinkhammer is a submission specialist first and foremost. With six of his eight wins coming by tap – spanning rear-naked chokes, arm-triangles, a heel hook and a kneebar – he attacks both the upper body and the legs, a versatility that makes him dangerous from almost any position on the canvas. His single knockout-category win (via elbows) and a lone decision round out a record that sits at an 88 percent finish rate. The obvious test for an unbeaten regional grappler is how the game translates against elite, takedown-savvy opposition, but to date no opponent has solved his pressure or escaped his hold-down-and-finish approach.
