Frederick Brown bio
Personal background
Frederick Brown is an American heavyweight mixed martial artist born on November 20, 1976, in Wichita, Kansas, who competed with a professional record of 3–2. Standing 6'0" with a long 78-inch reach for the division, Brown was a knockout-oriented heavyweight who came up through the Kansas regional scene in the early 2010s. He fought into his late thirties, making him a veteran presence in a heavyweight talent pool centered on the Midwest, and later crossed over into professional boxing.
Path to the pros
Brown turned professional in 2012, debuting with a win over Kirk Grinlinton at a True Fight Fans event. He followed it with a first-round knockout of Joel Rader at Capitol City Combat 11 in September 2013, establishing the heavy-handed style that would mark his short career. With two wins to his name, he earned a step up to one of the sport's major promotions.
Bellator run
Brown's biggest moments came under the Bellator banner. In March 2014 he faced fellow Kansan Daniel Gallemore at Bellator 113 and was stopped by punches in the first round — his first professional defeat. He bounced back on the same stage in June 2015, knocking out the experienced Derek Bohi with punches in the opening round at Bellator 139, the signature win of his career against a 6–3 opponent. Later that year he ran into another tough out, dropping a first-round stoppage to the well-traveled Bobby Brents at a Shamrock FC event in December 2015. A rematch with Gallemore was scheduled for early 2016 but did not come off. Brown's final recorded appearance came in 2019, when he competed in a professional boxing match, losing by knockout in the fourth round.
Fighting style
Brown was a pure striker. All three of his wins came by knockout, a 100% finish rate that defined him as a heavyweight who looked to land power early and end fights with his hands. The trade-off was the same volatility that comes with that approach: both of his MMA losses arrived by first-round stoppage, and his lone boxing bout also ended inside the distance. His long reach gave him a measuring tool at range, but his career underlined the all-or-nothing nature of a heavyweight built almost entirely around the knockout.
Career highlights
- 100% finish rate — all three of Brown's professional wins came by knockout, the mark of a true heavyweight power puncher.

- Bellator competitor — shared the cage with regional rival Daniel Gallemore on a major promotion's stage at Bellator 113.
