Testing against future UFC talent

Pati's career became a recurring measuring stick for rising contenders. In October 2018 he met undefeated prospect Punahele Soriano at LFA 52 and was caught in a first-round rear-naked choke, then dropped a decision to fellow unbeaten Kailan Hill at LFA 63 in 2019. He answered with the signature win of his career later that year, traveling to Ring of Combat 70 and submitting 6-0 prospect Joe Pyfer – a future UFC middleweight – with a second-round guillotine choke. That result earned him a 2020 appearance on Dana White's Contender Series against Jamie Pickett, where he was stopped by strikes in the second round. A pair of further setbacks followed, including a first-round loss to Joseph Holmes at Fury FC 53 in 2021, before Pati steadied himself with back-to-back first-round knockouts of Aaron Culpepper and Anthony Wilson in 2023.

Fighting style

Pati is a finisher in the truest sense – every one of his eight professional wins has come inside the distance, giving him a 100 percent finish rate among his victories. Seven of those wins are knockouts, the product of heavy hands and an aggressive, forward-marching style that pressures opponents into bad exchanges. His lone submission win, the guillotine over Pyfer, showed he is dangerous on the mat as well, but his losses tell the rest of the story: he has been out-grappled and out-pointed by more technical, positionally sound opponents, and several of his defeats came against undefeated prospects who weathered his early storm. When his power lands clean, though, few middleweights on the regional circuit have been able to absorb it.
