Punahele "Story Time" Soriano is an American welterweight competing in the UFC with a professional record of 13-4. Born on November 22, 1992, in Wailua on the Hawaiian island of Kauai, Soriano is of Filipino descent and grew up immersed in the islands' combat-sports culture before relocating to wrestle in the mainland. He attended Kahuku High School and went on to Wartburg College in Iowa, where he competed as a collegiate wrestler and placed seventh at 197 pounds at the 2014 NCAA Division I Championships. He was drawn into mixed martial arts through fellow Hawaiian Dan Ige, who recruited him to help fighters with their wrestling, and he eventually settled at the famed Xtreme Couture gym in Las Vegas. Path to the UFC
Soriano turned professional in 2017, debuting in his native Hawaii and quickly stacking finishes on the regional scene. He kept the momentum going with a unanimous-decision win over Nikolay Veretennikov at UFC 320 and another decision over Ramiz Brahimaj in February 2026, stacking a multi-fight win streak in his new division.
