Matt Dixon Record: 11-1-0

XFN champion

Dixon's breakthrough came in late 2018. He stopped Teagan Dooley and Brian Grinnell with first-round strikes in back-to-back outings, the second of those capturing the Xtreme Fight Night welterweight title at XFN 353 in November 2018. He defended it in April 2019 with a second-round knockout of Braden Smith at XFN 357, extending a perfect start. A decision win over Justin Patterson at LFA 83 in March 2020 carried him to 9-0 and onto the radar of the bigger promotions.

The Contender Series test and the road back

That unbeaten run met its first obstacle on Dana White's Contender Series in August 2020, where Dixon was stopped by ground-and-pound from the crucifix by undefeated prospect Orion Cosce in the third round – the only blemish on his record. Rather than rush back, Dixon took an extended break and returned to familiar ground, scoring a first-round punching finish of William Florentino at XFN 386 in 2023 and a first-round TKO of Ivey Nixon at XFN 393 in April 2024. The two finishes pushed his professional record to 11-1.

Fighting style

Dixon is a knockout artist first. Seven of his 11 wins have come by KO/TKO, with one submission and three decisions for a 73% finish rate, and most of those stoppages have arrived early – several inside the opening round. His power and pressure overwhelm regional opposition, and he has shown he can grind out decisions against durable veterans when the finish does not come. The one cautionary note is his lone defeat: the loss to Cosce came on the mat, where elite ground-and-pound exposed the gap between regional dominance and UFC-level competition.
