Building a winning streak

From 2014 onward Farrington put together the most productive stretch of his career, stringing together victories over Joseph Leo, Mikerson Lindor, Marcos Lloreda and Ty Evans. The signature win of that run came in April 2017, when he beat the experienced Fernando Ribeiro by decision at Fight Time 36, before stepping up to a bigger stage and defeating Michael Cora by decision at Titan FC 47 in December 2017 — a result that put him on the radar of larger promotions.

Contender Series and beyond

That momentum earned Farrington a 2019 appearance on Dana White's Contender Series, the UFC's high-profile proving ground, where he faced future UFC welterweight Daniel Rodriguez. Farrington lost a decision, but sharing the cage with a fighter who would go on to a successful UFC run underscored the level he had reached. He boxed to a draw with Michael Rycraft in a 2020 boxing match before returning to MMA later that year, outpointing veteran William Macário by decision at Taura MMA 11 to close out his ledger on a high note.

Fighting style

Farrington is a decision fighter at heart, and the numbers back it up: five of his eight wins have come on the scorecards, with a 38% finish rate that is the lowest mark of any power category. His three knockouts show he can hurt opponents, but his bread and butter is using his exceptional height and reach to keep fights at the end of his punches and bank rounds. The trade-off is a lack of a consistent finishing instinct — he has never recorded a submission win — and his losses came against the more dynamic, higher-level opposition that could close the distance and take him out of his rhythm.
