Building a regional reputation

Patilima's grappling carried him through the heart of his career. He submitted Sarwo Edhi Sam by rear-naked choke in 2021, then choked out the previously unbeaten Theodorus Ginting (6-0) in the third round later that year, a marquee win that established him as one of One Pride's premier 155-pounders. He kept rolling in 2022, taking out the 6-1 Wilem Natalex Munster and the unbeaten Iman Lesmana with Americana finishes. That momentum earned him a shot on the international stage.

Stepping up in competition

In May 2023 Patilima got his crack at the UFC's developmental circuit, facing the undefeated Shin Haraguchi (5-0) on Road to UFC. It proved a step up in class: Haraguchi stopped him with ground-and-pound in the second round, handing Patilima one of just two losses on his ledger. He responded the way a finisher should, returning later in 2023 to submit Mhar John Manahan at BRAVE CF 76, then opening 2024 with a first-round rear-naked choke of the seasoned Muhammad Sandi Pramana (9-3). A June 2024 decision loss to the vastly experienced Wuziazibieke Jiahefu (32-12-1) was his second career defeat, but it came against a far more battle-tested opponent.

Fighting style

Patilima is a submission-first grappler with a 90% finish rate and a 10-2 record. Six of his ten wins have come by submission – a mix of rear-naked chokes and Americanas – with three more by knockout or ground-and-pound, leaving just a single decision win on his record. His path to victory is consistent: pressure forward, take the fight to the mat, and hunt the finish. His two losses both came against unbeaten or vastly more experienced opponents and both were the result of being out-grappled or out-positioned, the clearest area where elite competition has exposed him.
