Personal background
Dylan Salvador is a French lightweight mixed martial artist and former elite kickboxer who carries a perfect 100% finish rate into every MMA appearance, currently sporting a 6–2 record. Born on May 20, 1993, in Lyon, France, and later based in the south of the country before relocating to train in the United States, Salvador first made his name on the feet. He is a former two-weight WAKO low-kick World champion, holding titles at light welterweight and welterweight, and the winner of the 2016 Glory Lightweight Contender Tournament – a striking pedigree that put him in the ring against some of kickboxing's best. Standing 5'9" and fighting out of the Nasser-K camp, he brings that world-class striking base to the cage.
From Glory rings to the MMA cage
Before turning his attention to mixed martial arts, Salvador competed at the highest levels of kickboxing and Muay Thai, fighting under the Kunlun Fight, K-1 and Glory banners against names like Buakaw Banchamek and Sitthichai Sitsongpeenong. One of his most notable kickboxing results came in December 2017, when he outpointed future UFC contender Giga Chikadze by decision at Glory of Heroes 25 – a win over a fighter who would go on to a long featherweight run in the UFC. Salvador took to mixed martial arts quickly, and notably, every one of his MMA wins has come by stoppage. He picked up early submission finishes on the regional scene, including an anaconda choke and a pair of rear-naked chokes, proving the grappling caught up fast to his renowned striking. In September 2021, he won an exhibition-MMA bout over Estevan Payan by decision at Premier FC 31.
