Contender Series tests

That undefeated power game earned Neves a Contender Series shot in August 2022, where he ran into Mick Parkin, an unbeaten British heavyweight who handed him his first loss by first-round rear-naked choke and went on to the UFC. Neves bounced back with knockouts of Jackson Gonçalves and Hyago Silva, then returned to the Contender Series in September 2023, only to be stopped by Jhonata Diniz in the first round – another future UFC heavyweight who caught him with a jab-and-cross combination. A title night and a comeback

Neves headlined LFA 171 in November 2023 in a bout billed as Neves vs. Cunha, facing Hugo Cunha.
