Mick Parkin Record: 10-2-0

Earning the contract

That opportunity came in August 2022 on Dana White's Contender Series, where Parkin faced unbeaten Brazilian Eduardo Neves. Parkin submitted Neves with a first-round rear-naked choke – a polished, controlled performance for a heavyweight – and earned his UFC contract on the spot. It was a statement that he was more than just a big puncher.

The UFC run

Parkin's Octagon career opened with a trio of measured decision wins, outpointing Jamal Pogues in July 2023, then Caio Machado in November 2023 and Mohammed Usman in March 2024. He then reminded everyone of his finishing ability at UFC 304 in July 2024, blasting Łukasz Brzeski with a first-round knockout. The unbeaten run finally ended in March 2025, when veteran Marcin Tybura handed Parkin the first loss of his career by unanimous decision – a step-up fight that exposed the experience gap against the division's established names but kept him firmly in the mix among Europe's promising heavyweights.

Fighting style

Parkin is a well-rounded heavyweight whose size, reach and composure set him apart from the wild brawlers the division often produces. He owns a 70% finish rate, with six knockouts and a submission among his ten wins, and his early career was built on heavy hands and first-round stoppages. But the UFC has shown a more complete fighter: three of his four Octagon wins came by decision, reflecting a patient, technical approach, ring IQ and the cardio to control a full three rounds – uncommon traits at heavyweight. His lone defeat, a decision loss to the vastly more experienced Tybura, points to the seasoning he still needs against elite competition rather than any flaw in his fundamentals.
