Earning the UFC contract

Diniz forced the UFC’s hand on Dana White’s Contender Series in September 2023, stopping Eduardo Neves by first-round TKO to earn his contract. He carried that momentum into his promotional debut at a UFC Fight Night in April 2024, knocking out Austen Lane with punches in the second round – a statement finish that announced his arrival in the heavyweight ranks.

Testing the waters at the top level

Diniz quickly found that the UFC heavyweight division rewards more than power. He showed new dimensions in August 2024 by grinding out a unanimous-decision win over the previously one-loss Karl Williams, proving he could win a competitive three-rounder rather than rely solely on a finish. The step up in competition arrived at UFC 309 in November 2024, where veteran Marcin Tybura handed Diniz his first MMA loss via second-round doctor stoppage. He rebounded at UFC 317 in June 2025 with a unanimous decision over undefeated Alvin Hines, before running into another unbeaten prospect, Mario Pinto, who stopped him by second-round TKO in October 2025. Diniz holds a 9-2 MMA record.

Diniz is a striker first, last and always, and his record reflects it: seven of his nine wins come by knockout or TKO, good for a 78% finish rate, with no submissions on his ledger. His kickboxing background shows in his timing, his ability to load up on heavy single shots, and his comfort at distance against larger men.
