Proving it against tougher names

The competition stepped up and Gadzhiyasulov adapted, showing he could win on the cards as well as by finish. In October 2022 he outpointed the experienced 11–4 Mohamed Said Maalem by unanimous decision at BRAVE CF 65. He carried that form onto Dana White's Contender Series in October 2023, where he edged the 11–2 José Medina by unanimous decision to earn his UFC contract.

UFC arrival and first loss

Gadzhiyasulov opened his UFC tenure in June 2024 with a hard-fought majority-decision win over the durable 15–6 Brendson Ribeiro, getting his Octagon career off to a winning start. The first blemish of his record came in January 2025, when he dropped a unanimous decision to the 13–1 Bruno Lopes, leaving him at 9–1 as a pro but still firmly in the mix among the division's rising names.

Fighting style

Gadzhiyasulov is a grappling-based pressure fighter whose 67% finish rate reflects a balanced offense: five of his nine wins came by KO/TKO and one by submission, the rest by decision. His size and reach let him control range, but his bread and butter is taking opponents down and overwhelming them with ground-and-pound and submission entries, as his early run of first-round mount-and-pound finishes showed. As the level rose in the UFC, his last three fights all reached the judges, suggesting that finishing the division's better-conditioned, more defensively sound opponents is the next challenge in his development.
