Stepping onto the international stage

The breakthrough came in February 2020 at ONE Warrior Series 10 in Singapore, where Singh submitted the 4-3 Seung Hyun Cho with a first-round guillotine choke – his first win on the international stage and proof his ground game translated against foreign competition. His momentum stalled in March 2021 when he ran into the undefeated Ali Guliev at BRAVE CF 47 and was stopped by first-round knockout, the first loss of his career and a stark lesson against an elite striker. Singh regrouped on home soil, returning in May 2022 with a triangle-choke win over Harsh Mishra at a Fight of Knights event.

The Road to UFC test

Singh earned a coveted spot in the UFC's Asian developmental tournament, facing the 7-1 South Korean Chang Ho Lee at Road to UFC in May 2023. Lee proved too much, stopping Singh by first-round ground-and-pound – a second knockout loss that exposed the gap between regional dominance and the level required to reach the UFC. Singh later tested himself in a different combat format, appearing at Karate Combat 45 in 2024, underscoring his willingness to take on new challenges even after setbacks.

Fighting style

Singh is a submission artist in the truest sense. Nine of his eleven wins have come by tap-out – a deep arsenal of triangles, armbars and chokes – with the remaining two by knockout, giving him a finish rate of 100%: he has never once gone to the judges' scorecards. That makes him an exceptionally dangerous closer who can end a fight from almost any position on the mat. The flip side is clearly defined in his record: both of his losses came by knockout, exposing a vulnerability when high-level strikers keep the fight standing and prevent him from dragging it into his world. His path forward depends on his ability to close the distance and impose his grappling before that striking gap can be exploited.
