Albert "Machete" Duraev is a Russian middleweight competing in the UFC, born January 5, 1989. A product of Russia's deep grappling culture, Duraev built his game on a foundation of sambo and wrestling, the disciplines that turned him into one of the most relentless submission and ground-and-pound artists on the European regional scene. Now based in the United States and training out of Xtreme Couture in Las Vegas, the 5'11" middleweight earned his "Machete" nickname for a cutting, finish-or-bust style. Path to the UFC
