Antonina Shevchenko bio
Personal background
Antonina Shevchenko is a Kyrgyz-Peruvian flyweight, nicknamed "La Pantera," who competed in the UFC's women's 125-pound division. Born November 20, 1984, in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, she is the older sister of dominant UFC flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko, and the two grew up immersed in martial arts. Their mother, Elena Shevchenko, is a former Muay Thai champion who became president of Kyrgyzstan's national Muay Thai association and holds a black belt in taekwondo. Antonina trained under longtime coach Pavel Fedotov, whom she later married, and in 2007 she relocated with the team to Lima, Peru, to teach martial arts. A decorated striker before she ever fought MMA, she won multiple amateur Muay Thai world titles, and at 5'8" with a 67-inch reach she brought elite stand-up to the cage out of Tiger Muay Thai.
From striking world titles to MMA
Shevchenko's combat-sports résumé stretches back two decades, with kickboxing and Muay Thai bouts dating to the early 2000s, including five-round Muay Thai wins on the Lion Fight stage. She built her professional MMA foundation on the strength of that striking pedigree before earning her path to the UFC through Dana White's Contender Series in June 2018, where she stopped Jaimee Nievera with knees. Signed to the promotion, she carried the burden of high expectations as a world-class striker and the sister of a champion.
UFC run at flyweight
Shevchenko opened her UFC tenure at The Ultimate Fighter 28 Finale in November 2018 with a unanimous-decision win over Ji Yeon Kim. Her first setback came in April 2019, a split-decision loss to veteran Roxanne Modafferi, but she rebounded that August by submitting Lucie Pudilová with a rear-naked choke. After a unanimous-decision loss to Katlyn Cerminara in May 2020, she delivered one of her best performances at UFC 255 in November 2020, stopping Ariane Lipski da Silva with second-round strikes.
Later UFC fights
The competition stiffened from there. Shevchenko dropped a submission loss to Andrea Lee at UFC 262 in May 2021 and was stopped by undefeated prospect Casey O'Neill that October. She closed her run on a high note in July 2022, edging Cortney Casey by split decision, before stepping away from the sport to pursue a career outside the cage.
Fighting style
Shevchenko is first and foremost a technical Muay Thai striker, with crisp boundaries, sharp knees and clinch work honed across years of championship-level kickboxing. Her finish profile reflects a measured fighter rather than a one-shot knockout artist: six of her 10 wins came by decision, with three knockouts and a submission rounding out a 40% finish rate. Her striking and fight IQ are her clear strengths, while the toughest moments of her UFC run came on the mat, where higher-level grapplers were able to drag her into their world. At her best she controlled distance and outpointed or out-struck opponents with veteran poise.
Career highlights

- TKO of Ariane Lipski at UFC 255 — her second-round stoppage was the standout finish of her UFC tenure.
- Contender Series signing — she earned her UFC contract by stopping her opponent with knees on Dana White's Contender Series.
