Andrea Lee is an American flyweight in the UFC, fighting under the nickname "KGB" and based out of the Shreveport-Bossier City area of Louisiana. Born February 11, 1989, she grew up on a farm in Atlanta, Texas, before relocating to northwest Louisiana, where she stumbled into combat sports almost by accident. Working at a sports bar that aired MMA events, she became fascinated by the fights and, encouraged by colleagues, sought out a gym in her early twenties. Her foundation is Muay Thai and Brazilian jiu-jitsu; she became a decorated kickboxer, earning North American Muay Thai honors and a world No. 1 ranking at featherweight before turning to mixed martial arts. The "KGB" nickname came from coaches and training partners who thought she resembled a Russian athlete. Path to the UFC
Lee turned professional in 2014 and cut her teeth in Invicta FC and Legacy Fighting Alliance. Her early career was a true proving ground: she dropped a split decision to veteran Roxanne Modafferi in 2014, then strung together submission wins, armbarring Rachael Ostovich at Invicta FC 14 and Ariel Beck at Legacy FC 49 in 2015.
