Regional rise and the call-up

During his rebuild, Anheliger submitted Josh Smith with a second-round guillotine choke at Hard Knocks 54 in 2017, an early signpost of the streak to come. He kept the momentum going by stopping undefeated prospect Brady Hiestand with punches in the third round at Rise FC 5 in 2019. The breakthrough came at Dana White's Contender Series in September 2021, where he edged the highly regarded Muin Gafurov by split decision to finally earn his UFC contract.

UFC tenure

Anheliger made the most of his long-awaited debut, stopping Jesse Strader in the third round in February 2022 with a counter left and follow-up ground-and-pound. The promotion's elite competition proved unforgiving from there: he dropped a unanimous decision to Alatengheili at UFC 279 in September 2022, then was submitted by Jose Johnson via rear-naked choke in November 2023. He bounced back with a composed unanimous-decision win over Charalampos Grigoriou in March 2024, before veteran Cody Gibson outpointed him over three rounds in November 2024.

Fighting style

Anheliger is a finish-first fighter whose game is built around power and aggression, reflected in a 77 percent finish rate. Seven of his 13 wins have come by knockout and three more by submission, leaving only three decisions on his winning ledger — he comes to end fights. His standup relies on heavy hands, particularly a counter left, while his guillotine-heavy grappling adds a second finishing threat.
