Smith carried his unbeaten record straight into the Octagon and never broke stride. In his promotional debut in January 2025 he needed just one round to knock out Preston Parsons, a striking finish that immediately validated the hype around his power. He followed it up in June 2025 on the UFC 317 card, this time leaning on his wrestling pedigree to drag veteran Niko Price to the mat and finish him with a second-round rear-naked choke, proving he could win on the ground as readily as on the feet.
