Josh Parisian is an American heavyweight who reached the UFC the hard way, through grinding regional finishes and a stint on The Ultimate Fighter. Born on June 28, 1989, in Martinsburg, West Virginia, he moved before second grade to Escanaba in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, the small town he came up in. Parisian has spoken openly about turning to fighting to build confidence after a difficult childhood, and the sport became both an outlet and a calling. Standing a rangy 6'4" with a 79" reach, he fights out of Scorpion Fighting System in Brighton, Michigan, where he sharpened the heavy hands that have made him a knockout threat in any exchange.
Path to the UFC
Parisian turned professional in 2014 and built his name on the Michigan and Midwest regional circuit, leaning on his size and power to rack up first- and second-round stoppages across promotions like Total Warrior Combat, LFA and King of the Cage. His breakthrough came in June 2018 on Dana White's Contender Series, where he starched veteran Greg Rebello with a first-round spinning backfist knockout.
