Earning a UFC contract

After a long stretch on the regional circuit, Christian broke through in 2024. He opened the year with a second-round TKO of Miguel Porto at LFA 175, finishing with a knee to the body and punches, then earned his UFC contract in September 2024 by submitting the unbeaten Francesco Mazzeo with a triangle armbar in the second round on Dana White's Contender Series. The win extended his finishing streak and rewarded years of grinding through Brazilian promotions.

UFC run

Christian's move to the sport's top level proved a steep climb. In his promotional debut in November 2025 he was submitted by Billy Elekana via first-round rear-naked choke. He returned in May 2026 against Junior Tafa at UFC Fight Night in Perth, Australia, and was knocked out by punches and elbows in the first round. The two early losses dropped his professional record to 9-4 and underscored the difficulty of adjusting to elite competition after a regional career built largely on finishing less-tested opponents.

Fighting style

Christian is a finisher through and through: all nine of his professional wins came inside the distance, split between five submissions and four knockouts for a 100% finish rate, and he has never won a fight on the scorecards. His enormous frame and reach give him advantages in range striking, while his jiu-jitsu – the triangle-armbar is a recurring weapon – makes him dangerous whenever a fight hits the mat. The flip side, exposed at the UFC level, is durability and defensive grappling: both of his most recent losses came in the first round, one by submission and one by knockout. For a fighter whose game is built on imposing his size, the challenge is doing so against opponents big and skilled enough to weather his early offense.
