UFC run

Just before that Contender Series win, Gurule notched one of his most notable finishes, submitting Jacob Silva with a fourth-round arm-triangle choke at Fury FC 96 – the lone submission win on his record and proof his grappling extends beyond takedowns. His UFC arrival, however, exposed the step up in competition. In April 2025 he was stopped by Ode Osbourne via second-round TKO, then dropped a unanimous decision to Jesus Aguilar that September. The skid continued into 2026 with a unanimous-decision loss to Alden Coria in February, before Gurule steadied himself in May with a unanimous-decision win over the experienced Daniel Barez. He closed out the month on the wrong end of a first-round face-crank submission against the unbeaten Rei Tsuruya, a sharp reminder of how thin the margins are at the UFC level.

Fighting style

Gurule is a pressure fighter whose game starts with elite collegiate wrestling and rock-solid takedown defense, but his calling card on the regional circuit was knockout power – he finished nearly every opponent before reaching the UFC. His professional record reflects that balance: of his 11 wins, five are by knockout or TKO, five by decision and one by submission, for a finish rate around 55 percent. He pairs aggressive, forward-marching striking with the wrestling base to dictate where fights take place. His UFC losses, including two submissions and a pair of decisions, have shown that against the division's best he can be out-grappled on the mat and out-pointed over three rounds when he can't impose his pace.
