Building through the regionals

An early breakthrough came in January 2019, when Rock submitted Rocky Lee by first-round rear-naked choke at Way Of The Dragon Championships 3, one of the many quick chokes that defined his rise through the Asian scene. He carried that grappling-heavy approach into his OKTAGON run, mixing dominant submission wins with the occasional setback, including a knockout loss and a majority draw, as he climbed the regional ranks toward the UFC. The OKTAGON years hardened him against deeper, more experienced opponents and built the résumé that earned him a shot at the sport's top promotion.

UFC arrival

Rock's UFC tenure opened with a pair of tough decision losses. In November 2025 he dropped a unanimous decision to undefeated prospect Nurullo Aliev at a UFC Fight Night, then lost another unanimous decision to Abdul-Kareem Al-Selwady in March 2026. Both defeats came against quality opposition and went the full three rounds, a sign that Rock could hang at the level even as he searched for his first UFC win. The setbacks underscored the jump in competition from the regional scene to the world's best.

Fighting style

Rock is a submission specialist through and through, with eight of his 11 wins coming by submission against a 91% finish rate, the rear-naked choke serving as his signature weapon. He is at his most dangerous when the fight hits the canvas, chaining position into chokes with the instincts of a dedicated grappler who found the sport through jiu-jitsu. His striking is the lesser part of his arsenal, accounting for only two of his stoppages, and his three career losses, including one by knockout and two by decision in the UFC, point to the same theme: when he cannot impose his grappling, he can be out-pointed or caught.
