Fast start in the Octagon

Saaiman wasted no time validating the hype. In his promotional debut at UFC 282 in December 2022, he stopped undefeated prospect Steven Koslow by third-round TKO with knees and punches. He followed it in March 2023 with a majority-decision win over the seasoned Mana Martinez at UFC 285, showing he could grind out a hard three-round fight. The high point came at UFC 290 in July 2023, when he blasted the experienced Terrence Mitchell with a first-round TKO, running his perfect start in the UFC to 3-0 and cementing his status as one of the division's brightest young prospects.

Adversity and a hard lesson

The undefeated run ended in October 2023, when Christian Rodriguez out-worked him over three rounds for a unanimous decision, exposing the grappling and pacing questions that come with a striker still rounding out his game. The setbacks compounded the following year. In March 2024, surging prospect Payton Talbott stopped him by second-round TKO, and after a layoff Saaiman returned in April 2025 only to be knocked out in the first round by the heavy-handed Malcolm Wellmaker. The three-fight skid dropped his UFC record to 3-3 and turned a fighter once labeled "the future" into one needing to regroup.

Fighting style

Saaiman is a striker first, and his record reflects it: six of his nine professional wins have come by knockout, against just one submission, for a finish rate around 78 percent. He fights at a high pace behind crisp boxing and kickboxing combinations, and at his best he overwhelms opponents with volume and forward pressure, as the Koslow and Mitchell finishes showed. The flip side has surfaced against elite competition. Against trickier, more well-rounded opponents his aggression has left him exposed, and all three of his UFC losses underline that he can be out-pointed when he can't impose his striking, or caught when he presses forward against a sharp puncher.
