Personal background
Ihor Potieria, the UFC middleweight nicknamed "The Duelist," was born on May 29, 1996, in Kyiv, Ukraine. Standing 6'3" with a 75-inch reach, he is one of the rangier, more aggressive strikers in his division, a power puncher who built his reputation on early finishes. Potieria competes out of the Standard Pro camp and rounds out his striking with a grappling foundation that includes a Brazilian jiu-jitsu background. Path to the UFC

The division proved unforgiving from there: a first-round standing guillotine from Michel Pereira at UFC 301 in May 2024, a decision loss to César Almeida at UFC 307 that October, and a first-round TKO defeat to Marco Tulio in January 2025 followed.
