Marco Tulio, nicknamed "Matuto," is a Brazilian middleweight competing in the UFC with a professional record of 14-3. Born on August 30, 1994, in Uberlândia, Minas Gerais, he came to combat sports young, starting karate around age six and later training taekwondo for roughly three years as a child, in part to shed weight. That early martial-arts grounding eventually broadened into the muay thai and Brazilian jiu-jitsu that define his game; he has been credited as a Minas Gerais muay thai champion and a São Paulo and Minas Gerais jiu-jitsu champion. Path to the UFC
