Undefeated UFC surge

Magomedov made his Octagon debut in October 2023 at UFC 294, out-pointing the dangerous Bruno Silva over three rounds. He followed it in June 2024 with a third-round TKO of Antonio Trócoli, then a unanimous decision over the durable Michał Oleksiejczuk in August 2024. The performance that turned him into a viral sensation came in October 2024 at UFC 308, where he knocked out Armen Petrosyan with a stunning spinning-backfist sequence in the second round—a finish widely celebrated as one of the most spectacular knockouts in recent UFC history.

First defeat and the rebound

The unbeaten run met its first roadblock in February 2025, when Magomedov dropped a unanimous decision to slick veteran Michael Page—the only loss on his record. He responded in July 2025 with a unanimous-decision win over Marc-André Barriault, reaffirming his place among the division's rising contenders. Outside of MMA, he has taken part in high-profile modified-grappling exhibitions, including matches with Arman Tsarukyan and Edson Barboza. A UFC middleweight bout with Michel Pereira is scheduled for June 2026.

Fighting style

Magomedov is a high-volume, highly creative striker whose game is built almost entirely on the feet. Twelve of his 16 wins have come by KO or TKO, a 75% finish rate powered by a deep arsenal of spinning attacks, knees, elbows and pinpoint timing—the spinning-backfist knockout of Petrosyan being the signature example. His pressure and pace let him overwhelm opponents, and his striking pedigree from Muay Thai and kickboxing shows in his comfort at range and in the clinch. The clearest question mark is his grappling and wrestling, the area exploited in the Page decision, where a more measured, range-managing opponent was able to neutralize his offense over 15 minutes.
