Building the streak

From his 2022 debut through early 2025, Choinski won his first eight professional fights, five of them by submission. He showcased a varied finishing arsenal — rear-naked chokes, an armbar against Noah Lindsey, and an arm-triangle choke against Rese Archer — while also proving he could go the distance, taking unanimous decisions over Justin Lovrich and John Simon. That perfect 8-0 mark, anchored by his wrestling and a constantly hunting submission game, earned him a call to the sport's biggest stage.

UFC debut

Choinski stepped into the Octagon in June 2025 at UFC 316, drawing fellow unbeaten prospect MarQuel Mederos (10-1). Mederos handed Choinski the first loss of his career by unanimous decision over three rounds, snapping the eight-fight streak but doing nothing to diminish the promise of a fighter who arrived in the UFC undefeated.

Fighting style

Choinski is a wrestle-grappler in the truest sense: his Division III All-America credentials give him the takedowns and top control to drag fights to the mat, where his submission game does the rest. Five of his eight wins have come by submission, with a knockout and two decisions rounding out a 75 percent finish rate that speaks to his ability to end fights. His decisions over Lovrich and Simon show the cardio and control to win clear rounds when finishes do not come. The Mederos loss, his only defeat, suggests the next step is sharpening his striking to match the elite level of competition in the UFC lightweight ranks.
