Stepping up the competition

Sim's first major test came in April 2022 at BRAVE CF 58, where he handed the undefeated Chang Ho Lee his first loss, taking a decision over the 6–0 prospect — the most accomplished win of his career and his lone victory to reach the scorecards. He returned to his finishing ways that November, submitting Navdeep Agarwal with a first-round rear-naked choke at TFC Fight Night 9. That run earned him a spot on Road to UFC, the promotion's Asian talent tournament, in May 2023. There he met Peter Danesoe and was caught by a flying knee in the first round — the only loss on his record. He rebounded in April 2024 with a body-kick finish of the undefeated Godwin Amos Langbayan at the KSK MMA Festival, getting straight back into the win column.

Fighting style

Sim is a finisher built around a strong grappling core. Three of his six wins have come by submission — including multiple rear-naked chokes and an arm-triangle — with two more by knockout and just one by decision, an 83% finish rate that reflects a fighter who looks to end matters early in either phase. His striking has grown into a genuine threat, as the body-kick finish of Langbayan showed, while his chokes remain his most reliable weapon.
