Yazmin Jauregui Record: 12-2-0

UFC run

Jauregui debuted impressively, edging highly touted prospect Iasmin Lucindo by unanimous decision in August 2022 in a fast-paced, high-volume striking battle. She followed that in December 2022 with a second-round TKO of Istela Nunes, breaking down a former Invicta titleholder with punches to push her record to a perfect 9-0. Her unbeaten streak ended in July 2023 at UFC 290, where Denise Gomes caught her with a first-round TKO — Jauregui's first professional loss. She rebounded in February 2024 with a hard-fought unanimous-decision win over Sam Hughes, before running into a tough night in September 2024 at UFC 306, where Ketlen Souza submitted her by first-round rear-naked choke, exposing the grappling questions that opponents have tried to target.

Fighting style

Jauregui is a volume-heavy, forward-marching striker who looks to walk opponents down and overwhelm them with boxing. Of her 11 wins, seven have come by knockout and four by decision — a 64% finish rate — with zero submission wins on her resume, underlining how thoroughly her offense runs through her hands and forward pressure rather than the mat. Her cardio and output let her win extended firefights, as the decisions over Lucindo and Hughes showed. The flip side is defense: both of her losses have come on the inside, one by TKO and one by submission, and her grappling and takedown defense remain the areas opponents look to exploit. At her best, though, she is one of the more entertaining action fighters in the division.
