Lupita "Loopy" Godinez is a Mexican strawweight competing in the UFC with a professional record of 14-6. Born on September 6, 1993, in Aguascalientes, Mexico, Godinez was 14 when her family fled to Canada – her father's business had drawn threats from a drug cartel – settling in Vancouver, British Columbia, which she has called home ever since. She first trained judo as a child in Mexico, returned to grappling in Canada, and was pulled toward mixed martial arts after watching Ronda Rousey compete in the UFC. Path to the UFC
