Brad Riddell, the UFC lightweight known as "Quake," is a New Zealand striker whose nickname pays tribute to Christchurch, the city devastated by the 2011 earthquake that ultimately set him on his path in combat sports. Born on September 30, 1991, in Auckland, Riddell came up as a decorated professional kickboxer, amassing a long record on the New Zealand and Australian circuits and capturing a WKBF world title before turning his focus to mixed martial arts. Path to the UFC
