UFC career

Mullarkey's Octagon arc has been defined by resilience. He lost his 2019 debut to Brad Riddell by decision and dropped another nod to Fares Ziam in 2020, but turned the corner emphatically in 2021. He knocked out Khama Worthy in the first round and stopped Devonte Smith in the second, announcing himself as a legitimate finisher. A 2022 TKO loss to Jalin Turner was followed by a hard-earned split-decision win over veteran Michael Johnson.

The grind continues

Mullarkey opened 2023 with a unanimous decision over unbeaten Francisco Prado, then traded results in a brutal stretch: a TKO loss to Muhammad Naimov, a decision win over veteran John Makdessi, and a first-round TKO loss to Nasrat Haqparast. After a 2024 TKO defeat to surging prospect Mauricio Ruffy, Mullarkey reset and outpointed Rolando Bedoya over three rounds in 2025 before dropping a first-round submission to Quillan Salkilld in 2026.

Fighting style

Mullarkey is one of the most explosive finishers in the lightweight division's lower-card ranks, with a 72 percent finish rate built almost entirely on power: ten of his 18 wins are knockouts, with three submissions rounding out the highlight reel. He fights with a high-pace, high-risk mentality that produces bonuses and short nights in equal measure — six of his nine losses have also come by knockout, the trade-off for a style that lives in the pocket.
