Felipe Lima bio
Personal background
Felipe Lima, nicknamed "Jungle Boy," is a Brazilian UFC fighter campaigning in the lighter weight classes, born on May 7, 1998, in Coari, a remote city in Brazil's Amazonas state. He later moved to the regional hub of Manaus, where he began training Brazilian jiu-jitsu as a teenager before committing fully to mixed martial arts. The "Jungle Boy" nickname nods to those Amazonian roots and the ferocious, all-action style that came with them; Lima has said he started training young with the goal of lifting his family out of hardship. After dealing with visa complications in Brazil, he relocated to Sweden and joined the renowned Allstars Training Center in Stockholm, adapting to European MMA culture while sharpening every area of his game. He stands 5'6" with a 68-inch reach.
Path to the UFC
Lima turned professional in 2015 at just 17 years old, cutting his teeth on the Amazon Talent regional circuit in Brazil with a string of early submissions and knockouts. As he matured, he tested himself against tougher competition in Europe through promotions like Brave CF, Fight Club Rush, and OKTAGON. The OKTAGON run proved pivotal: in July 2023 he outpointed Jonas Mågård over five rounds to capture the promotion's bantamweight championship, the signature regional title that put him on the UFC's radar.
UFC career
Lima entered the UFC in 2024 and made an immediate statement. In his June 2024 debut he submitted Muhammad Naimov with a third-round rear-naked choke, a performance that earned him a bonus and signaled he belonged. He followed that up in December 2024 with a composed, three-round unanimous-decision win over the experienced Miles Johns to push his unbeaten UFC start to 2-0. His momentum hit a wall in June 2025 at UFC 317, where he dropped a unanimous decision to fast-rising prospect Payton Talbott — only the second loss of his career, and his first since reaching the top level.

Fighting style
Lima is a well-rounded, durable competitor whose record reflects genuine versatility: of his 14 wins, four have come by knockout, three by submission, and seven by decision, for a 50% finish rate. He owns real power, as a highlight-reel flying-knee knockout on the regional scene showed, but he is just as comfortable grinding out rounds with grappling and pressure. His Brazilian jiu-jitsu base makes him dangerous in scrambles and on the mat, while his time at Allstars rounded out his striking and conditioning. He has never been finished by strikes; his lone stoppage loss came by submission earlier in his career, and his decision setback to Talbott showed that elite, rangy strikers can give him problems.
Career highlights
- OKTAGON bantamweight champion — defeated Jonas Mågård over five rounds to win the title that earned him his UFC call-up.
- Statement UFC debut — submitted Muhammad Naimov by rear-naked choke to open his promotional run with a bonus-worthy finish.
- Unbeaten start in the UFC — won his first two octagon appearances against Naimov and Miles Johns before his first top-level loss.
