Earning the call through Road to UFC

Sahota's defining run came on Road to UFC, the promotion's Asia-focused tournament series and the gateway to a UFC contract. In May 2024 he edged the vastly experienced 16–4 Shuai Yin by split decision, a hard-fought win over a seasoned opponent that proved he could hang with high-level competition. He followed it in August 2024 with a clean three-round unanimous decision over Ruel Pañales, stacking the victories needed to break through to the sport's biggest organization.

UFC debut

Sahota made his Octagon debut in November 2024 at UFC Fight Night in Macau, stepping in against the unbeaten 8–0 prospect DongHun Choi. It proved a harsh introduction to the elite level: Choi closed the show with a first-round knockout, handing Sahota a setback in his first UFC appearance. The loss snapped his momentum, but it also placed him on the roster he had spent years chasing, with the regional pedigree and finishing power to rebuild.
