Finding his footing in the UFC

Barriault steadied himself in 2021, scoring his first UFC win with a third-round TKO of Abu Azaitar at UFC 260 and following it with a decision over Dalcha Lungiambula. The next stretch was a true rollercoaster: a 2022 knockout loss to Chidi Njokuani was answered by a slick first-round mounted guillotine submission of Jordan Wright, then a submission loss to Anthony Hernandez. He put together his best run in 2023, stopping Julian Marquez by TKO at UFC 285 and outpointing Eryk Anders at UFC 289. The deeper waters again proved difficult: he dropped a 2024 split decision to Chris Curtis, then back-to-back first-round knockouts to Joe Pyfer and Dustin Stoltzfus. He answered the skid emphatically in May 2025, blasting Bruno Silva with elbows and punches for a first-round finish, before dropping decisions to Shara Magomedov in July 2025 and Michał Oleksiejczuk in February 2026.

Fighting style

Barriault is a pressure-forward power striker, and the numbers reflect it – 11 of his 17 wins have come by knockout, by far his most common path to victory. He marches opponents down behind heavy hands and is dangerous in close, with elbows and short power shots that have ended fights in the opening round. His finishing instinct cuts both ways, though: he is a high-variance fighter who can be caught, with three of his losses coming by knockout, and his most frequent stumbling block has been the scorecards, where seven of his eleven defeats have been decided. He is at his most effective when he can turn a bout into a phone-booth brawl rather than a measured, distance-managed striking match.
