Finding his footing in the UFC

The step up brought early turbulence. Jones dropped a unanimous decision to Mike Davis in his January 2021 debut, then saw a competitive bout with Alan Patrick in June 2021 ruled a no-contest after an accidental eye poke. He steadied himself in October 2021 with a hard-earned unanimous-decision win over the unbeaten David Onama, his first Octagon victory. A unanimous-decision loss to Ľudovít Klein in July 2022 then sent him back to the drawing board.

Rebuilding and a UFC resurgence

Rather than tread water, Jones returned to Cage Warriors and reeled off a string of finishes — including stoppages of Alexandre Ribeiro, Yann Liasse and Bryce Logan — to reestablish himself as one of Europe's elite lightweights before coming back to the UFC. The renewed version paid off: in May 2025 he outpointed veteran Jeremy Stephens over three rounds, then followed with a second-round TKO of Bolaji Oki by elbows in September 2025. He kept the momentum going with a unanimous-decision win over Axel Sola in March 2026, extending a strong run back inside the world's top promotion.

Fighting style

Jones is a relentless, pressure-driven lightweight whose 18-2 record carries an eight-knockout, three-submission finishing résumé and a 61 percent finish rate. He marches opponents down behind crisp boxing combinations and heavy kicks, then mixes in judo trips and submissions that reflect his decorated grappling pedigree. His cardio and volume are a genuine weapon, allowing him to overwhelm foes in the later rounds. Tellingly, both of his career losses came by decision rather than finish — he has never been stopped — underlining a durability that complements his offense, even if his all-action approach can leave him in firefights.
