Myktybek Orolbai is a Kyrgyz lightweight competing in the UFC with a professional record of 16-2-1, and he holds the distinction of being the first fighter from Kyrgyzstan to compete in the promotion. Born on February 10, 1998, in the Osh Region of southern Kyrgyzstan, Orolbai grew up immersed in his country's hardy grappling and equestrian culture, including kok boru, the traditional Central Asian horseback sport played with a goat carcass. He came up through the Uluu Kyrgyz team while studying at a law college in Osh, refining the smothering wrestling that would become his signature. Path to the UFC
Orolbai turned professional in 2018 and quickly built a reputation on the regional and Eurasian circuit, fighting for promotions such as WEF before crossing the Atlantic to the Legacy Fighting Alliance (LFA), where his wrestling-heavy style overwhelmed opponents and put him on the UFC's radar. He bounced back emphatically: in June 2025 he submitted veteran Tofiq Musayev with a first-round kimura, then in November 2025 he flattened the experienced Jack Hermansson with a first-round knockout punch. Fighting style
Orolbai is one of the more complete finishers in his division. With seven knockouts, six submissions and an 81% finish rate, he can end fights on the feet or on the mat, but the heart of his game is relentless, chain-wrestling control that drains opponents and opens up both ground-and-pound and submissions.
