Personal background
Uros Medic, nicknamed "The Doctor," is a Serbian-American welterweight competing in the UFC with a professional record of 13–3. He was born on April 25, 1993, in Novi Sad, Serbia, and raised in the nearby suburb of Budisava, where he began judo as a young child before adding kickboxing in his hometown. In 2015 he came to North America through a work-and-travel program and stayed in Anchorage, Alaska, taking odd jobs – mowing lawns, waiting tables, selling cars – while coaching at a local jiu-jitsu academy and chasing a fighting career. Standing 6'1" with a 71" reach, he now sharpens his game at Kings MMA in Huntington Beach, California, blending a grappling base with the explosive striking that has become his trademark.
Path to the UFC
Medic turned professional in 2016, debuting in Alaska with a first-round TKO and building a perfect record on the regional Alaska FC circuit, mixing knockouts with triangle-choke submissions. The breakthrough came in August 2020 on Dana White's Contender Series, where he blitzed Mikey Gonzalez with a first-round TKO to earn his UFC contract – the payoff for years of grinding far from the sport's traditional hubs.

He starched veteran Tim Means with a first-round TKO in April 2024, and after a first-round knockout loss to Punahele Soriano in January 2025, he reeled off three straight knockouts: Gilbert Urbina in August 2025, the experienced Muslim Salikhov in November 2025, and former contender Geoff Neal in February 2026.
