The Titan FC run

Gomez found a home in Titan FC and produced the best stretch of his career there. In November 2017 he out-pointed the 7-1 Guilherme Santos, then delivered his signature performance a month later at Titan FC 47: a first-round knockout of the previously unbeaten Sodiq Yusuff by slam and punches, stopping a prospect who would go on to a long UFC career. That win marked the high point of Gomez's run, but the level of opposition only stiffened. In 2018 he dropped a fourth-round submission to the unbeaten Jason Soares, and after a knockout of Ramon Martinez in early 2019, he ran into back-to-back submission losses to Herbert Burns and prospect Chase Hooper at Titan FC 54 and 55, both of whom were UFC-bound. He later rebuilt on the Combate Global circuit, mixing decision wins with hard losses to close out a 9-6 professional record.
