UFC career

Moroz announced herself in spectacular fashion. In her April 2015 debut she submitted the unbeaten Joanne Wood with a first-round armbar, a star-making finish that put the division on notice. The transition to the UFC's elite was not seamless, as she dropped a 2015 decision to Valerie Letourneau, but she steadied herself with decision wins over Cristina Stanciu in 2016 and Danielle Taylor later that year. A tougher stretch followed, with decision losses to former champion Carla Esparza in 2017 and Angela Hill in 2018.

Flyweight run

Moving up to 125 pounds revitalized her. She beat the unbeaten Sabina Mazo in 2019, outpointed the previously perfect Mayra Bueno Silva in 2020, and produced one of her best wins in March 2022, submitting Mariya Agapova with a second-round arm-triangle choke at UFC 272 in an emotional night during the war in her home country. The closing stretch proved difficult: she dropped a 2022 decision to Jennifer Maia, was submitted by Karine Silva in their 2023 rematch, and lost a 2024 split decision to Joanne Wood in the rematch of her famous debut.

Fighting style

Moroz is a submission grappler first, with a 64 percent finish rate and six of her 11 wins coming by tapout, the armbar being her signature weapon dating back to her amateur and early pro days. Her boxing background gives her a measured striking game and a reliable jab off her length, but her path to victory most often runs through the mat, where she chains attacks fluidly and is happy to fight off her back. The honest read on her record is the cluster of close decisions, five of her six losses are by decision, suggesting that in extended exchanges against high-output strikers she can come out on the wrong side of the cards. When she gets a fight to the ground, though, her finishing instincts remain genuinely dangerous.
