Nathan Wade Landwehr, nicknamed “The Train,” was born on June 7, 1988, in Clarksville, Tennessee. He grew up playing football from a young age, also competing in wrestling and track during his high school years. After graduating, he continued his athletic journey at Highland Community College on a track scholarship. Landwehr discovered mixed martial arts in his early twenties and made his professional debut in 2012, driven by a strong work ethic and dedication to combat sports.

Landwehr built his early career competing in regional promotions across the U.S., racking up an 8–2 record and winning the 3FC Featherweight Championship in 2014. In 2017, he joined M-1 Global, earning the M-1 Global Featherweight Championship in July 2018 and defending it twice over the next year. These performances garnered attention and paved his way to the UFC.
