Path to the UFC

Ramos opened his UFC tenure in February 2017 with a decision over Michinori Tanaka, then delivered the signature highlight of his career that November: a spinning back elbow knockout of Aiemann Zahabi at UFC 217, one of the most spectacular finishes of the year. He followed with a split decision over Kyung Ho Kang in 2018 before a 2019 stoppage loss to Said Nurmagomedov. Ramos bounced back strongly that same year, decisioning Journey Newson and submitting the previously undefeated Eduardo Garagorri in the first round.
His path turned bumpier from there. He was stopped by Lerone Murphy in 2020, rebounded with a decision over Bill Algeo in 2021, then dropped a decision to Zubaira Tukhugov at UFC 267. In June 2022 he reminded everyone of his flair with another spinning back elbow knockout, this time of Danny Chavez. A tougher stretch followed: guillotine submission losses to Charles Jourdain in 2023 and veteran Julian Erosa in 2024. He steadied himself with a split-decision win over Josh Culibao at UFC 305, but then dropped consecutive bouts – a decision to Chepe Mariscal and a first-round submission loss to Kaan Ofli in October 2025.
