Climbing the welterweight ranks

From 2014 onward, Magny stacked wins, beating Tim Means and knocking out Rodrigo de Lima, then edging Kelvin Gastelum by split decision in 2015. A 2015 submission loss to grappling ace Demian Maia exposed his ground vulnerabilities, but he bounced back by stopping former Bellator champion Hector Lombard in 2016 and outpointing former UFC champ Johny Hendricks to close out the year.
