Tim Elliott Record: 22-14-1

Early MMA Career

Elliott turned professional in 2009, fighting in regional promotions across the Midwest. His aggressive style and endless cardio earned him the attention of larger organizations. In 2012, he signed with the UFC, beginning a long tenure marked by both thrilling performances and battles against some of the division’s best.

UFC Career and The Ultimate Fighter

Elliott’s UFC journey has been anything but ordinary:

Fought elite flyweights early, including John Dodson and Joseph Benavidez.

Released in 2015 after a skid, but rebounded by winning the Titan FC Flyweight Championship, which earned him another look.

Competed on The Ultimate Fighter 24, a special season featuring champions from around the world. Elliott won the tournament, defeating Hiromasa Ogikubo in the finale, which earned him a shot at then-champion Demetrious Johnson.

Title Shot Against Demetrious Johnson

At The Ultimate Fighter 24 Finale (2016), Elliott challenged Johnson for the UFC Flyweight Championship. Though he lost by unanimous decision, he shocked many by nearly submitting Johnson with a guillotine in the first round and pushing the dominant champion for all five rounds. That fight cemented Elliott as one of the most durable and dangerous grapplers at 125 pounds.

Later Career and Fighting Style

Elliott has since become a staple of the flyweight division, taking on rising prospects and fellow veterans. Known for his awkward striking, scrambling ability, and endless pace, he’s often described as one of the most unpredictable fighters in MMA.

Some of his notable wins include victories over Ryan Benoit, Mark De La Rosa, Jordan Espinosa, and Tagir Ulanbekov.
