Allan Nascimento bio
Personal background
Allan Nascimento is a Brazilian flyweight competing in the UFC, a submission-first grappler who carries a 22–6 professional record into the 125-pound division. Born in 1991 in São Paulo, Brazil, he picked up the ring name "Puro Osso" — roughly "all bones" — for showing up to the gym painfully skinny as a teenager. Nascimento has been remarkably loyal to a single camp, training out of Chute Boxe under Diego Lima since he was around 15 years old, and he is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt whose ground game is the foundation of everything he does. Standing 5'9" with a long 69" reach for the flyweight class, he uses that frame to wrap up opponents and hunt for finishes from every position.
Path to the UFC
Nascimento turned professional in 2012 and built his record across the South American and regional circuits, where his submission skills quickly stood out. The road was not without bumps: he dropped a five-round decision to Will Campuzano at Legacy FC 19 in 2013 and a decision to future UFC fighter Ricardo Ramos later that year, learning to grind through adversity. He earned a shot on Dana White's Contender Series in 2018 but came up just short, losing a split decision to Raulian Paiva. Undeterred, he kept stacking regional wins until the UFC finally came calling.
UFC run
Nascimento's Octagon debut at UFC 267 in October 2021 ended in a tough split-decision loss to Tagir Ulanbekov, but he quickly found his footing. In May 2022 he outpointed undefeated prospect Jake Hadley over three rounds for his first UFC win, then showcased his calling card in January 2023 by submitting Carlos Hernandez with a first-round rear-naked choke. After a layoff, he returned in 2025 with arguably the best stretch of his career: a unanimous-decision win over Jafel Filho in May, followed by a second-round anaconda-choke submission of veteran Cody Durden in November 2025.
Fighting style
Nascimento is one of the more dangerous submission artists in the flyweight division. Of his 22 wins, 15 have come by submission — a remarkable rate that speaks to a deep, varied tap-out arsenal built around rear-naked chokes, triangles, armbars and anaconda chokes. His long limbs help him control grappling exchanges and chain attacks together once the fight hits the mat. The honest knock on his game is that all six of his career losses have come by decision, suggesting that opponents who can keep the fight standing and outpoint him over three rounds have given him trouble — though his improving finishing rate has made him an increasingly tough out.
Career highlights
- Elite submission rate — 15 of his 22 wins come by tap-out, ranking him among the most finish-hungry grapplers at flyweight.
- Statement UFC submissions — choked out Carlos Hernandez and Cody Durden to prove his ground game translates at the highest level.
- Career-best form in 2025 — back-to-back wins over Jafel Filho and Durden pushed him up the flyweight ladder.
