Ismael Bonfim, the lightweight known as "Marreta," is a Brazilian mixed martial artist born on December 28, 1995, in Brasília, Federal District. The elder of the fighting Bonfim brothers – younger sibling Gabriel is a UFC welterweight and jiu-jitsu black belt – Ismael was shaped by family, improvised training spaces and a long apprenticeship on Brazil's regional circuit. Path to the UFC

The next stretch was harder: he was stopped by a first-round doctor's stoppage against Nazim Sadykhov in February 2025, then dropped a second-round TKO to Chris Padilla in November 2025.
