He made his professional MMA debut in 2017 and quickly stood out on the regional scene with his flashy attacks and ability to finish fights. By 2020, Zalal earned a call-up to the UFC, where he made a successful debut at UFC 247 with a unanimous decision win over Austin Lingo.
