UFC arrival and the power game

Ferreira could hardly have asked for a louder debut. In January 2023 at UFC 283 in Rio de Janeiro, he knocked out Gregory Rodrigues with a single first-round punch in front of a home crowd, an instant highlight that validated the hype. The sport quickly reminded him how thin the margins are, though – later in 2023 he was knocked out in the first round by Nursulton Ruziboev, a sharp reality check after the early fireworks.

Building a contender

Ferreira responded with the most impressive stretch of his career. He blasted out Phil Hawes with first-round punches in January 2024, then produced one of the year's flashiest finishes – a first-round spinning-back-elbow knockout of Dustin Stoltzfus in June 2024. A submission loss to Abus Magomedov by arm-triangle choke that October exposed his grappling defense under fatigue, but he rebounded emphatically, returning to his roots with an armbar of Armen Petrosyan at UFC 313 and another armbar of unbeaten Jackson McVey at UFC 318 in 2025. He then showed a new dimension by out-pointing veteran Marvin Vettori over three rounds at UFC 323 in December 2025 – a rare decision win that proved he can grind as well as finish. A first-round knockout loss in the March 2026 rematch with Rodrigues at UFC 326 evened that rivalry and underscored how live every middleweight night is.

Fighting style

Ferreira is one of the division's purest finishers, with a staggering 93% finish rate built on twin threats: of his 15 wins, nine have come by knockout and five by submission, with only a single decision before the Vettori bout. His power is genuine and immediate – he hunts the early knockout – and when fights hit the floor his judo and jiu-jitsu pedigree make him equally lethal, as his armbar finishes attest. The demonstrated weakness is durability and the long game: both of his stoppage losses came against opponents who weathered his early storm, and the Magomedov defeat showed what can happen when a strong grappler controls him into deep water.
